Without any doubt, TMJ, the cervical spine and orofacial pain, present complex clinical entities, which make their treatment a specialty in itself. For this reason, our initiative to offer the patient the best service has been to dedicate ourselves exclusively to all neuromusculoskeletal pathologies of the head and neck, being specialists in TMJ and other head and neck structures.
In that sense, all the tools we use in our day to day are based on the most current evidence and scientific research. Basically, our way of working is based on a correct diagnosis of physiotherapy and the application of orthopedic manual therapy, dry puncture, therapeutic education and therapeutic exercise.
From the specialty in ATM, the biopsychosocial approach in the patient with orofacial pain has been studied a lot, since the experience of pain is always derived from sensory, cognitive, emotional and social components, which modulate this painful experience and can modify it, making other approaches to patients who suffer necessary.
Specifically in the Cranio-Cervico-Mandibular complex, the perpetuation of pain is the second most prevalent after low back pain, so a specialized approach is necessary, taking into account all the factors associated with pain, in order to properly manage the same and avoid perpetuation.
In order to make the correct approach to our patients, we always carry out an exhaustive exploration with the orthopedic tests and the most researched questionnaires that are related to pain, which after a long time of specialization compiled, help us to make the best clinical decisions. Somehow, a good diagnosis of specialized physiotherapy is usually a good result in subsequent treatment.
